MOT for the Body !

Ever wondered how you can give your body a yearly check over, an MOT for the Body !

So every year you get those feelings of doom, is the car going to make it through the MOT?
Is there going to be a huge bill at the end of it.
How long is it going to take. Do I need to get the bus to work for the next few days?
Now we make sure our car is checked over once a year, twice if you have it serviced, however we don’t do it with our bodies?
Why?
Good question, I don’t honestly have a good answer!
Maybe it’s because the body is amazing at adapting and will find a way around any issues you have. Well this could be a possible reason but eventually the body will say no. Now this can manifest as pain, stiffness, loss of motion.
Maybe it’s because we are all busy people and we have our job, which is putting us under more stress because there’s a deadline on Friday, but little Beatrice needs taking to her after school choir practise and the partner has been saying they don’t see me enough so I’m stressed; have little time to spend with family and I’m shattered.
Well I have the perfect solution, a well overdue visit to the Osteopath.
Just as a plane isn’t allowed to set off to sunny Barbados without all its safety checks, why would you allow your body to do hours and hours of work without having it looked at, at least once in a while?
I’m not saying our bodies are exactly like machines and engines, NO, they are much more complicated.
An MOT from an Osteopath will include looking at your whole body to see what’s irritating you, what’s not moving well and give you time to talk about you for once!
We look at you almost from a birds eye view. I don’t mean we stand on stilts and take topographical photos. I mean we assess your muscular system, nervous system and emotional health to see what needs a little fine tuning. We look at you as a whole person not just a knee or a number. We even ask how your diet is going, just as you wouldn’t put cooking fat into a Ferrari, we encourage you to put the best food for you into your “engine”.
So if you’ve had a nagging issue with your back, knee, hip or whatever part of your body come and visit us. If you’ve been to a therapist before and it’s been a while, come and have a check-up.
