5 Simple Ways to Move More !

We all know we should be exercising, eating better and drinking more water BUT what if we don’t like exercise ?

Well there are many ways to increase your daily activities to burn more calories rather than specific and dedicated exercise. I would express however that exercise is hugely important and to try as many different types as you can before saying you hate exercise. Having said that here are 5 simple ways to increase your activity or MOVE MORE.

  1. Park your car further away from the shops, this is a good habit to get into and will add some more activity to you day. This may seem a small change but when you add up all the times you go food shopping, clothes shopping and so on. Then add that up over the year it can be a big change.

  2. Whenever you walk up the stairs to get something do it twice. Again a small change but you just doubled the amount of steps for that activity.

  3. BoxSet Binging - We have all done it. Sometimes when you are sick, sometimes when you are meant to be studying and sometimes because you just have to see the next series of Sabrina ! Well I have a game for you. Each time any of the characters say a favourite catch phrase from the show Stand Up and then sit back down. This may seem silly at first but it gets you moving in a non exercise type manner.

  4. Work placed movement - This works if you are in an office based environment but can be adapted. Set an alarm on your phone for every hour and when that alarm goes off, get up and walk around the office or get yourself a glass of water. This well help keep away those aches and pains of sitting for too long and increase your hydration, Double benefits.

  5. When having lunch, try going outside for a little walk just before you eat. This can help raise your activity level and maybe allow you to have one more biscuit at work but shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

Any Questions, as usual get in contact, we are more than happy to help!
