COVID-19 Patient Information Sheet

 2020 COVID-19 Safety Sheet & Information for patients attending Hereford Osteopaths for Osteopathic Treatment:

  1. Telephone/Video Consultation: This will allow you to tell us why you need an appointment and discuss your problem (to include a full case history for New Patients).  There will be plenty of time to have a discussion as we endeavour to find the route cause of your issue. 

  2. Face to face appointment: On arrival stay in your vehicle and we will greet you.  You will be asked wash/sanitise your hands once in the clinic.

Your practitioner will be in the necessary PPE equipment and will be screened daily.

Please be aware that this process is a “hands on” approach and means you will be in close proximity to your osteopath

If you have an acute problem, treatment can occasionally result in a temporary exacerbation of your symptoms. This is usually short-lived and settles quickly. Your osteopath will explain what you can expect from the treatment, as well as any risks associated with your condition.

The vast majority of our patients experience relief from their symptoms quite quickly, and our practitioners are happy to talk to you on the telephone if you are unsure of whether you are responding appropriately to their treatment. 

We are taking every precaution that we can to ensure that anyone visiting our practice does not come into contact with the Covid-19 virus. We therefore ask for patient cooperation in abiding by our protocols and notices displayed in the practice. 


PLEASE DO LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS FOLLOWNG AN APPOINTMENT WITH US, or if anyone you are in close contact with shows obvious symptoms of COVID-19.  This is a precaution we all need to be aware of and for the sake of everyone’s wellbeing we will then need to shut the clinic and self isolate for 2 weeks.  We will also need to inform any other patients we have seen in order for them to self isolate.  This way we can help reduce the potential of having to go into total lockdown again as a society.  Of course we will inform you if we exhibit any symptoms.

If you do exhibit symptoms it is best to self isolate for two weeks.  If you feel unwell or are in any doubt, please inform your Doctor.

We have Covid-19 screening and consent forms on line when you book in, which we ask you to please complete and sign. 

PAYMENT is preferred at the booking stage where you can pay via Stripe. 

Health Insurance:

If you are claiming your treatment from a medical insurance company, please check with them that you are covered for an appointment with us.    

Sarah Spencer Chapman is registered with many insurance providers and will happily talk to your provider if necessary.  However, it is required that you pay for your sessions and make your own claim from your insurers please.

Please also note that we request 24 hours’ notice should you wish to cancel an appointment, so that your appointment slot may be offered to another patient.
